IS POWER MINE TO HAVE?
Is it Wealth? Fame? Strength?
But really it is the capacity and/or ability to stop your circumstances, environment and peers from influencing your decisions.
But, like many of us, I used to think of Power as unfeasible, impossible for me to achieve.
I would often think to myself:
“How does that apply to me, a 1 in 8 billion, young adult with no sense of purpose, deficient in qualifications, trust funds, confidence... How am I going to earn my power?”
And as we do, I went on an outsourcing binge, just like a Netflix marathon, you can’t seem to get enough.
I was looking for ways to gain power from others, following anyone who would make me feel good about myself, feel better about the way I looked and give me a sense of belonging.
Was it genuine? I doubtedly believe it was. Was it Power? I certainly believe it wasn’t.
SO WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
Is it something we unawarely own or we can grow to gain?
“The power we are all seeking out there, is also within us and readily available to us to use in a positive way” - Louise L. Hay
When faith in ourselves is lost, self-sabotage walks through the doors.
We need to recognise the power we hold, the endless source of it all that lies in us. See the greatness and welcome it with open arms, and clear ourselves of imposter syndrome.
EUREKA MOMENT
You matter. I matter. We all do.
Imagine a world without one of your loved ones?
You might find it pretty boring, tastelessly bland, unfulfilled maybe. Now, can you imagine a world without you? You can’t, can you?
One thing is for certain, and that is, the lives of the people you’ve crossed, would be profoundly different, not necessarily better or worse, just different.
The day we were conceived, we impacted history forever, left a footprint and altered countless courses of events.
Our parents had to plan for a new baby; their friends and family got excited about names, genders, gifts,... okay, maybe not the gifts part, but probably got them wondering if they should get pregnant too.
Our birth became an addition to the hospital, town council, even the government’s stats; it brought revenue to newborn’s products companies; a blessing to celebrate with birthdays; a beam of light in the eyes of those who witnessed our first steps, and regret in those who weren’t ready for the liability of raising a child.

CONCLUSION
Of course, we could debate the “If not me, someone else”, but how many people can do what you do, the way you do it? No one, to the exact match, and that’s because we are uniquely needed.
And with such great treasure, comes an even greater responsibility, of asking ourselves:
“What kind of impact would I like to receive, I can give?”
We own Power. An easy switch of mindset leading to grateful insourcing, increased self worth and confidence to take on any curve balls thrown at us.
How will you use yours from now?
